I have been cleaning the house since we got up today. We both had the day off so I had a lot of help. Yesterday we bought a new kitchen table and put it togeter last night. Tonight we ate dinner in our newly completed kitchen.
The next step in the house is the living room. We have completely cleaned the downstairs but next week on Tuesday I will be taking all the pictures off the walls and downstairs and re-arrange them in their new home which will be the wall of the staircase. We got two beautiful picture frames for the wedding and will be framing two pictures from the photographer which are being hand tinted. I love hand tinted pictures and have 6 others in the living room, so I think that our wedding pictures being tinted as well, will look really good together. I may remove the pictures on Sunday evening so that I can start putting up the painters tape for the living room pattern. I really haven't decided which would be the best approach. I can' really explain now but when you see the design you'll understand. I
We also re-arranged our storage room today to get our old kitchen table in there (if we entertain it will be useful). At the same time I also removed all the boxes from our wedding gifts and filled out the registration cards for our serveware and new appliances that have warranties. Once we had the space cleared out we put in our rubbermaid storage bins for the Christmas trees (formely in a storage closet upstairs).
On Sunday evening I would really like to get out patio cleaned up. It has rained quite a few times lately, but for the most part it is really nice out and would like to use the patio more often.
I would really like to buy a kitchen cart for extra storage and food prep space, or just those wall mountable brackets that you can hang shelves from for storing some of the things on our counters. I just can't find anything I like. I am leaning towards shelves, cause a kitchen cart we would take with us when we move out but we will be buying a house when we move out of here and I would never have kitchen cabinets in this color in my house.
My last chore of the day is to find some work clothes for tomorrow and put in another load of laundry (which makes 8 for the day). The washing machine was broken a while ago and it seems that we haven't caught up until today :)

Kitchen Painting
I have completed the painting of two walls in the kitchen. All of the walls have their base coats but now two of them also have their squares. I have added the squares to mimic the pattern of tiles that I would associate in a diner. You know how they may have tiled walls all in one color and then accent squares of other colors. I really like the way that it came out. I also think that I am going to get some blackboard paint and paint a blackboard square in the area above the sink to post daily specials. I would really like to get a used restaurant booth for the kitchen too. We have a table caddy that you may find in a coffee shop with a nakin holder, sugar pourer, and salt and pepper shakers. I think we have an adorable kichen. The changes have really helped it to feel more like a room. I actually sat in there to watch TV and do paper work earlier.
I can't wait to start the living room on Thursday. I will be off the whole day and I'd like to get the base coat on three walls. The other wall goes behind the TV and down the hall way and up the stairs. I am not going to be painting the wall that goes up the staircase. The wall is two stories tall. The darker teal color and brown will be accent stripes in the living room. The lightest color is the base coat of the living room and the lighter brown is the wide band of color in the living room. I know that none of this is making any sense but I will post more pics later.
I tried to hire a costumed telegram to deliver my husband gift to his work tomorrow but the costume that I wanted is not available tomorrow. The person who does the costume I wanted is doing another outfit for Valentine's day and doesn't do costume changes. I can explain more after Valentine's day but I don't want my husband looking at the blog and knowing want his gift is ahead of time.
Yesterday on my way to work my windshield got hit by a rock. For about 5 minutes I had want looked like a rock hit, then all of a sudden "POP" the crack grew to a 6 inches crack in one second. I called and reported it to my insurance company but I didn't schedule an appointment yet. I want to have it replaced by one of the companies that offers free dinners with every windshield. I figure why not. I am not paying for the new window anyway, why not get some free dinners to a restaurant with my new window. I just can't remember the name of the company, but I know if I wait a few days the commercial will be on.
I just recently heard from my husband that Steve Nash may be out through the All Star Break. This is not good for the Suns. The team is soooo much better when Nash is playing. He really makes everyone on the team play better ball. It really didn't help them the other night. On Sunday night the game was tough. They were missing Nash, Boris Diaw and Kurt Thomas. That is like playing with only half a deck.
Last night my hubby and I had date night. We ordered dinner from Outback for takeout and watched "Ocean's Twelve". I really wasn't impressed by the movie the first one was much better. The previous one happened to be on the night before and was much better. I think I am going to get rent a movie tomorrow after work and hopefully will be off early enough to pick up a take and bake pizza. The place next to our house has heart pizzas for Valentine's day.
While I was waiting to our dinner last night I talked to my mom and they have 3 wedding gifts waiting at their house for us. I have to finish all the thank you notes that we haven't written yet. It is too hard to coordinate our schedules to get his input on the text of the cards I just have to write them as I would my family since technically we are family now even if I have only met some of them once on our wedding day. I am going to say right now that I will have that done by next Thursday and they will all be in the mail by next Friday.
